[ARCHIVED] Sleep Out for the Homeless

Linn County Veteran Affairs, Community Circle of Care and other community partners invite the public to participate in the 8th Annual Sleep Out for the Homeless. Roughly 5,000 individuals accessed emergency shelters and transitional housing programs in Linn County last year. Nearly half of those were children. Last year, Linn County schools served nearly 900 children who were homeless – living in shelters, other people’s homes, or on the streets in tents, cars or abandoned buildings.

Sleep Out participations spend the night outside. This is an opportunity for community members to raise funds as well as discuss, think and learn about homelessness in our community and throughout the nation.

All funds raised are distributed to local programs that serve the homeless. For questions, call (319) 892-5160.
