The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to Linn County for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016.
The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports.
In order to receive an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting, a government unit must publish a Popular Annual Financial Report whose contents meet program standards for creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal. This is the 19th consecutive year Linn County has received this award.
Linn County’s PAFR is printed and distributed to the community each December for the fiscal year ended June 30. Copies of Linn County’s PAFR are also available at the Jean Oxley Linn County Public Service Center, 935 Second St. SW, Cedar Rapids or online at www.linncounty.org/finance.
Linn County produces the PAFR as part of its ongoing commitment to keep citizens informed about the County’s finances and to be accountable for the receipt and expenditure of public funds.
