Effective Monday, August 14, major parking lot reconstruction will begin at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 310 2nd Ave. SW in Cedar Rapids. This construction will be in the visitor parking lot, or parking lot A, the lot closest to 2nd Ave. SW. This will affect all visitor parking for the next 30 to 45 days.
Limited parking will remain at the front of the building along 2nd Ave. SW. Temporary visitor parking will be available in the employee (Lot B) designated by signs. The only way to access this temporary parking area is from L Street off 1st Ave. The entry ramp to the parking lot off 2nd Ave. will be closed.

Due to the construction in the parking lot, the Drug Drop Box will be moved to the front of the Sheriff’s Office just to the right of the steps going into the main entrance of the building on 2nd Ave. SW.
At this time, access to the Sheriff’s Office building for general public and those with physical limitations will still be available through the West entry door to the office.
