James Noonan, Chris Adcock and Rena Schulte: These three outstanding employees of the Linn County Attorney’s Office recently received the Linn County Customer Service Award for the exceptional service they provided to a victim of domestic abuse. Investigator James Noonan had met with a victim of domestic abuse to provide her with court documents when he noted what appeared to be bodily injuries to her face. He persuaded her to meet with one of our victim witness coordinators, Chris Adcock, and the two of them encouraged her to follow
through with the charge. They also helped arrange for her to obtain a medical exam during
which time the treating physician discovered the victim was suffering from a bowel adhesion
that could have proved fatal if timely medical treatment had not been provided. Rena Schulte
prosecuted the defendant and was able to obtain a substantial jail term for the offender. These
three employees showed great compassion and dedication in the assistance they provided this
crime victim and were recognized for their outstanding service by Linn County Attorney Jerry
