Linn County and City of Cedar Rapids Held American Rescue Plan Act Funding News Conference

Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap


The following is a recap from the Linn County Board of Supervisors meetings the week of July 2-9, 2021. The Board of Supervisors:

  • Authorized Chair to sign a contract with Benevate Inc. for use of the Neighborly Software for implementation of the Emergency Rent Assistance II (ERA 2) program
  • Approved an application for display fireworks permit for F. B. & Co., for a display at 4185 Whittier Rd, Central City, on July 10, 2021 (rain date is July 17, 2021)
  • Approved application for display fireworks permit for Dave Hulshizer, for a display at 2549 Janette Nehl Ln, Central City, on August 14, 2021 (rain date is August 21, 2021)
  • Approved a vacancy form requesting a Deputy Auditor – Tax Services for the Auditor’s Office
  • Approved resolution for a residential parcel split for Attwood Estates First Addition, case JPS20-0021
  • Approved resolution for final plat for Norris Acres First Addition, case JF21-0008
  • Authorized Chair to sign contract amendment #6 5881HC08, between Linn County Community Services – Ryan White Program and Iowa Department of Public Health for the period of April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 for a total contract equaling $764,828 (funding source correction made by IDPH from contract amendment #5)
  • Approved Native Wine Permit for Culver’s Garden Center & Greenhouse, 1687 Old Dubuque Rd
  • Held first and second consideration on an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Linn County, Iowa by amending provisions in Chapter 107, Unified Development Code, related to Home Occupations and Floodplain Overlay District
  • Provided Board member reports of their activities, meetings, and project updates
  • Entered into a closed session pursuant to Iowa Code Section 21.5.(1)(j) to discuss the purchase or sale of real estate
