Linn County Secondary Road Department Releases 2022 Maintenance Plan and Five-Year Construction Plan The Linn County Secondary Road Department has released its maintenance plan for 2022 and the five-year construction plan for fiscal years 2023-2027. The plans outline the department’s focus on repairing and rebuilding bridges, maintaining the condition of the paved road network, improving the condition of the County’s 765+ miles of rock roads, performing preventative maintenance, and how projects are prioritized. Secondary Road Department staff present a five-year plan to the Board of Supervisors annually, per Iowa Code.

ICYMI: Second Installment of Property Taxes Due March 31 The second installment of property and mobile home taxes in Linn County is due by March 31, 2022. Late fees of one and one half percent will attach to late payments beginning April 1.

Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap The following is a recap from the Linn County Board of Supervisors meetings the week of Feb. 19-25, 2022. The Board of Supervisors:
- Met with and received updates from the following departments: Community Services, Conservation, Public Health, Soil Conservation, Veteran Affairs, IT, and Sustainability.
- Received an update from the Marion Public Library.
- Received a presentation of the Five-Year Construction Plan and 2022 Maintenance Plan from the Secondary Road Department.
- Approved and authorized Chair to sign an Agreement between Linn County and Loecke Building Services, Inc. for the Wanatee Park Maintenance Building Office Addition project.
- Approved purchase order PO242 to Campbell Supply for a concrete saw in the amount of $29,550.90 for the Secondary Road Department.
- Approved purchase order PO243 to McQueen Equipment Group for a street sweeper in the amount of $175,000.00 for the Secondary Road Department.
- Approved purchase order PO246 to Lycox Enterprises Inc for a retriever disc in the amount of $22,240.00 for the Secondary Road Department.
- Discussed and decided on exemption for Linn County Public Health with regard to the lifting of the County facility mask requirement.
