Property Tax Statements Mailed this Week Property tax statements were mailed this week and will be arriving in mailboxes soon. Five Season Stand Down is September 1 The annual Five Seasons Veterans Stand Down will take place September 1, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, 950 Rockford Rd SW, Cedar Rapids. This free event provides veterans and non-veterans affected by homelessness or at-risk of homelessness with connections to services to improve their lives and aid in transitioning to community living. Doors open and on-site registration begins at 9 a.m. Lunch is provided.

Board of Supervisors Meeting Recap The following is a recap from the Linn County Board of Supervisors meetings the week of August 12-19, 2022. The Board of Supervisors:
- Received and placed on file Treasurer’s (Auto Dept.) Report to the County Auditor receipts and disbursements for the Month of July 2022
- Approved a resolution to set a public hearing for August 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. to determine whether Linn County will convey to Timothy K. Grissel Jr., whatever interest Linn County may have in vacated right-of-way described as the east half of the alley lying adjacent to the west line of Lots 85 and 86 of said Town of Western and the south half of the alley lying adjacent to the north line of said Lot 86
- Approved a resolution to set a public hearing for August 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. to determine whether Linn County will convey to Elaine Novotny Living Trust, whatever interest Linn County may have in vacated right-of-way described as the east half of the alley lying adjacent to the west line of Lots 93, 94 and 95 of said Town of Western and the north half of Sycamore Street lying adjacent to said Lot 93 and the alley lying between said Lots 94 and 95
- Approved a resolution for a final plat for Miller Acres First Addition
- Authorized Chair to sign the first amendment to the 28E agreement with the City of Cedar Rapids for bridge inspections to be completed on jointly owned bridges by the County’s inspector
- Authorized Chair to sign the agency agreement between Linn County Community Services and Fresh Start Ministries for the RISE Program in the amount of $30,000 from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023
- Approved purchase order in the amount of $36,428.16 to Thompson Truck & Trailer Inc for surcharges on tandem axle trucks purchased for the Secondary Road Department
- Approved Liquor License for BK’s Bar, 803 Vernon Valley Dr., noting all conditions have been met
