new homestead tax exemptionsThere are two new homestead tax exemptions in Iowa and the Linn County Assessor and the Cedar Rapids City Assessor want Linn County residents to be aware of these new exemptions. One is an increase in the military service tax exemption for qualifying veterans. The second tax exemption is for residents 65 or older. The deadline to apply for these exemptions is July 1. Approved exemptions will show on your property taxes that are payable in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025. Learn more about the tax exemptions.
